GradeMyDNS Terms of Service
Effective date: On launch. (TODO: replace with the actual launch date before publishing.)
These terms are the rules for using GradeMyDNS. We wrote them in plain English. By using the site or buying anything, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
GradeMyDNS is a small business run as a sole proprietorship in Maury County, Tennessee. "We" and "us" mean GradeMyDNS. You can reach us at support@grademydns.com. Support is by email only, and replies are written by an AI assistant.
2. What GradeMyDNS does
- We look up public information about a domain name, like its email settings (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), its website security settings, and its DNS records. Anyone on the internet can look up the same information.
- We turn that into a grade and, if you buy one, a fix kit with step-by-step instructions.
- If you sign up for monitoring, we check your domain again every day and email you if something changes.
3. What GradeMyDNS does not do
- It is not a security test. We do not try to break in, guess passwords, or test your systems for weak spots. It is not a penetration test or a security audit.
- It is not a guarantee. A good grade does not mean you are safe from hackers, scams, or email problems. A fix can help, but we can't promise your emails will never go to spam.
- It is not identity theft or breach protection.
- We never log into your accounts or your computer. You make every change yourself.
4. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. You may only buy a fix kit or monitoring for a domain you own, or one you have permission to manage. For paid features, we ask you to prove this by adding a short DNS record or by answering an email sent to the domain.
5. Fair use
Please don't:
- Use GradeMyDNS to target or harass anyone, or to plan an attack.
- Scan domains in bulk, use bots or scripts, or try to get around our daily limits or bot checks.
- Scan IP addresses or private networks (we block these).
- Try to break, overload, or copy our service.
- Resell our reports without an agency plan.
We can block scans, cancel accounts, or refuse service if we think someone is breaking these rules. If we cancel a paid account for a reason other than abuse, we refund what's left of what you paid.
6. AI-written content
Fix kits, reports, and support replies are written with the help of AI. Every DNS record we suggest is checked by a computer program before we send it. Still, mistakes can happen. Please read each step before you make a change. If something looks wrong, reply to the email and we'll check it.
7. Payment
Payments are handled by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. The fix kit is a one-time payment. Monitoring renews automatically every month or every year until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the link in any monitoring email, or by replying to any of our emails. See our Refund Policy for details.
8. Your content and our content
Your domain information stays yours. The site, the grades, and the guides belong to us. You may share your grade and your own fix kit freely.
9. Limits on our responsibility
- GradeMyDNS is provided "as is." We try hard to be accurate, but we can't promise the service will always be correct, available, or free of errors.
- You are responsible for any changes you make to your DNS, email, or website. Keep a copy of your old settings before you change anything.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, like lost business, lost emails, or lost profits.
- To the extent the law allows, the most we will owe you for any claim is the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law that can't be waived.
10. If there's a problem
Please email support@grademydns.com first. Most problems can be fixed or refunded by email. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. Any court case will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Maury County, Tennessee, except that either of us may use small claims court.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a big change, we'll email paying customers at least 14 days before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
